While other halls at the Las Vegas Convention
Center were filled with gee whiz computer games
and 3-D televisions you can use without glasses
(pretty neat), the Silvers Summit and Digital
Health sections had products ranging from
enhanced hearing devices and fire safety devices
that alert the hard of hearing when a fire alarm
goes off in their home (thanks to SilentCall for
letting me hang my hat at their booth) to Web
systems that allow a family caregiver to stay
the CEO of Caring for My Loved One, Inc. by
offering online scheduling and management tools.
We will be covering a lot of these
technologies throughout the year in upcoming
issues of Today’s Caregiver magazine.
This year, many of the products showcased at the
Silvers Summit were dealing with hearing health,
an issue we will be covering in our March/April
issue.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the
families of those who perished or are still
missing due to the Costa Concordia cruise ship
crash last week in Italy.
