One of my
dearest friends from when I lived in North
Carolina, who worked hard for many years on his
mental health challenges, finally lost his personal
battle and, to this day, it has shaken and shaped
his friends and family members.
And finally, the statistic that is a show-stopper
whenever I share it at a caregiving event:
researchers at Stanford University have discovered
that 40 percent of family caregivers for loved
ones living with cognitive disorders will die from
stress-related disorders before their loved one
dies.
The mission of the Mental Health
Association is dedicated to promoting mental health
and victory over mental illness and related
challenges through education, prevention, advocacy,
research and empowerment.
So, if you are in the area, please
join us next Wednesday. If not, please support
your local MHA as they work so hard to support you
and your community.
Oh, yes. The tears they will be aflowin’.
