Thankfully, everyone in the waiting room that day
received good news. As these families spent time in
the hospital for the next few days while their loved
ones recuperated, they continued to support one
another, walking the halls and sharing many cups of
coffee. Actually, some of Elaine’s impromptu
waiting room support group members told her they
were going to find caregiver support groups in their
local communities when they got back home.
Elaine, retired? Not hardly.

Fifth principle: I
will fearlessly seek out other caregivers or care
organizations and join an appropriate support group;
I realize that there is strength in numbers and will
not isolate myself from those who are also caring
for their loved ones.
