Tra la! It's here!
That shocking time of year
When tons of wicked little thoughts
Merrily appear!
It's May! It's May!
The lusty month of May!

I guess you would think that singing about the
arrival of May in the middle of the month is a
little strange. Well, I meant to do it a
few weeks ago, but have been so darned busy
checking off all I need to do to recognize the
healthcare commemorations taking place this
month.
In particular, it was a true honor to receive a
2013 EPIC award from the Mental Health
Association of South Florida yesterday. And it
was even a greater honor to be standing with my
fellow recipients, who all do so much for the
community on a daily basis. Now, this is an
organization that truly deserves a month of its
own.
Mental Health Month is an annual observance
designed to increase awareness about mental
health and mental illness. This year's theme,
Mental Health Matters: In Your Life, reminds
Americans that caring for their mental health is
as important as taking care of their physical
health because mental health impacts all areas
of life.

Ok, check that one off.
Older Americans’ Mental Health Week is coming
up. And, by the way, it is also Older
Americans’ Month.
