As I promised last
week, I will start sharing the unparalleled wisdom that we receive
as we travel the country hosting Fearless Caregiver Forums. We
have been extraordinary blessed to meet the best of the non-profit
agency leaders, case managers, healthcare attorneys and experts
from around the country. But I'm not really talking about their
invaluable wisdom. I'm talking about the wisdom we receive from
our fellow caregivers. On a regular basis within this newsletter
and on the homepage of caregiver.com, we will introduce a topic of
importance to caregivers and share some of the solutions we hear
while on the road.
This is also the
perfect time to introduce our new Fearless Caregiver Grapevine.
The Grapevine is where we will be sharing these solutions. We
invite you to share the solutions that you have found to be of
help in the topic area or even get answers to your specific
questions.
Okay, lets start.
The first Grapevine topic we will tackle is one of great
importance to many adult and senior caregivers. It's one I call:
"How do I get my loved one to stop driving?"
This is such an
important issue during the Fearless Caregiver Forums that I like
to hold it until the end because it usually swamps all other
issues. One audience member's license challenge was a little too
unique to include in the grapevine. She was relating the story of
how she got her 92-year-old father to surrender his license. It
was only deep into her story that we realized she was talking
about his pilot's license! Thankfully for those of us who often
fly the friendly skies, their efforts were successful.
