Her life as a family caregiver began anew
shortly thereafter, when the hospital called on
Fourth of July weekend 1990 to say they needed
to get Dad admitted immediately. There are
quite a few additional stories of Fearless
Caregiving as she began caring for our
grandparents shortly after Dad passed away.
Some of my favorite moments at any Fearless
Caregiver Conference are when family caregivers
share their own stories of Fearless Caregiving.
And in fact, that is the very first lesson of
Fearless Caregiving: share your stories, learn
from your fellow caregivers and honor yourself
for the times that you can truly shout, “I am a
Fearless Caregiver – Don’t Mess with Me!”
