Tips for Peace on Earth
(at least in your home) during the holiday season:
1. Spend some time remembering
some shared good moments, preferably over a cup of
your favorite grog or even lemonade.
2. Employ Active Listening, which,
according to Wikipedia, is:
a communication technique that requires the listener
to feed back what they hear to the speaker, by way
of re-stating or paraphrasing what they have heard
in their own words to confirm what they have heard
and, moreover, to confirm the understanding of both
parties.
3. Yelling is never a good
communication device unless you are falling out of a
plane or lost on a mountain top.
4. A well-timed hug and/or
well-meant thank you go many miles toward mutual
understanding.
5. Do take time to hold the
Caregiver Board of Directors’ Meetings. After
all, the goal of all members in your personal care
organization should be the same: Providing the best
possible care for your loved ones.
