Don’t Forget to Tip

As you read this, (hopefully) I am spending the
day with a room bursting with healthcare
professionals, doctors, attorneys, Area Agency on
Aging professionals, financial and home care
specialists as well as family caregivers. All
outstanding in their own fields of expertise,
including and most especially each and every family
caregiver who is the avowed expert in caring for his
or her own loved one. Oh yes, and one Arthur
'Fonzie' Fonzarelli, also known as Mr. Henry
Winkler, who among his many public roles played out
in screens large and small, also has played a role
very familiar to all of us—dedicated family
caregiver.
As with all of the other experts in the room, I
fully expect to walk away from the event with a
pocket full of advice, tips and wisdom from my
fellow family caregivers. Just like the wisdom
shared after last week’s newsletter when I asked for
tips regarding one of the most important tools that
a caregiver can possess as they best care for their
loved one—respite.
