Last Thursday, we hosted our 126th Fearless Caregiver Conference and it was a doozy. (Okay, I’m old and allowed to use such words.) The event was in Boca Raton, Florida, and hosted in partnership with our good friends, the Palm Beach/Treasure Coast Area Agency on Aging—Your Aging Resource Center.

The day was a real lollapalooza (see note above). We had a talk show with leading healthcare experts, from a doctor to the VA Caregiver Support Program coordinator and the Elder Helpline director, a technology expert, AND (ain’t finished yet) an incredible RN. They were all authoritative and inspirational and offered great suggestions for the caregivers in attendance. (Video to come soon; stay tuned.)...read more

Hi Gary,

Great conference as usual. Kudos to you and your great staff!

As you may remember, I am on the Boards of the Hemlock Foundation and Society of Florida. The many questions and concerns from the audience about living wills and durable health care powers of attorney/surrogate designations got my thoughts churning. I'm sure you have many resources for the blank forms (which probably work for 80-90 percent of the population) and, as you said, unique situations require the help of a competent elder law attorney. But here are three free resources we recommend:
