Joy Behar is
an American comedian, writer,
actress, and a co-host of the talk
show, The View. In the fall of 2009,
Behar began hosting her own
celebrity news and commentary
program, The Joy Behar Show, on
CNN's sister network HLN. For Joy,
heart disease is a family affair.
Despite having lost both parents to
heart disease, Joy’s mother Rose was
not prepared when a sudden heart
attack struck in her fifties. Now,
Joy and her daughter Eve (a talented
ceramic artist) are challenging
women who have or are at risk for
heart disease to be prepared, and
better their odds of surviving
should a heart attack strike without
warning. And they caution women,

first heart attack when she was 50
years old. An uncle, who is her
brother, had a sudden heart attack
and died at the age of 58.
Both my grandparents on my mother’s
side died of heart attacks.
So, there you have it. It is
not a pretty picture...continued

years old when first diagnosed with the disease.
When questioned about her experience, she said, “I

It's often difficult to differentiate between sadness and
depression. Each has certain qualities that frequently
overlap; yet both can impact our lives dramatically. Sadness
can range from a simple momentary unhappiness to a long-term
grief or sorrow....continued In many areas of the
country, cold weather is an old-forgotten nemesis
that reappears this time of year. When caring for
those with disabilities and seniors, caregivers must
take some simple precautions to ensure a loved one’s
safety this winter season...continued My big concern is the cost of medications. My
husband reaches the gap early every year. His meds are
so-o-o expensive. He can't be without any of them, but
when he reaches that gap in Medicare, it is a financial
struggle. Is there any help?
