The act of sending an e-mail to a user, falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft.

Recently, someone close to me (who shall remain nameless) called to let me know that she (oops, guess that was a clue) was scammed by an organization purporting to be AOL. Sharing Wisdom
From Lisa in PA It's typical for the elderly to be dismayed at their new “lot” in life. They have been independent for years; now they feel helpless. I hear comments such as, “I can do it myself!” or “I think YOU are the one that needs a hearing aid.” I don't take such comments personally anymore. I used to, until I put myself in their place. So often behind those comments lies frustration and other feelings. Eventually, the truth will come out. Oftentimes, I receive thanks for the help I provide. From Julie in TN Our loved one ate constantly. She is diabetic and very overweight. We needed to control her diet, but couldn't watch the refrigerator constantly. We finally put a bike lock through the door handles and didn’t tell her the combination. Problem solved. She gets three hearty meals a day and snacks between. It works for us. The best ideas and solutions for taking care of  your  loved one often come from other caregivers. Please post your ideas and insights and we will share them with your fellow caregivers.
